The Manila Electric Co. said it has put in place contingency
measures to ensure ample power supply on New Year’s eve.
In a statement, Elpi Cuna, Meralco VP for
Corporate Communication, said that this early, the power utility has
put all its emergency crews on alert to ensure that it will be able
to respond to any contingency that usually arises from the use of
firecrackers and pyrotechnics on New Year’s eve.
During an emergency, Cuna said Meralco customers
can call its 24-hour call center at 16211.
