ATENEO DE MANILA and Holy Child School of Davao topped their
respective divisions in the national finals of the 2007
MILO-sponsored BEST Center SBP-Passerelle held recently in Iloilo
City.
Ateneo defeated Sacred Heart School-Jesuit,
56-41, to rule the SBP division. The Blue Eaglets banked on Mark
Gamboa, Michael Joseph Nieto, Antonio Asistio, Javier Consunji and
Emilio Puno to post a commanding 26-2 lead.
Davao-based Holy Child, meanwhile, prevented a
complete dominance by the NCR teams as it drubbed Xavier School,
72-58, for the Passerelle division title.
Bacer Amer fired 19 points for Holy Child, which
had to claw back from a sluggish start before getting the better of
Xavier and clinching its first crown in five years.
Settling for third place honors were Ateneo de
Davao (SBP) and home team Iloilo Central Commercial High School (Passerelle).
