Electronics up slightly

Imports rise on costlier oil

PHILIPPINE imports rose for a fifth month in October mainly because of higher oil prices, the government said Friday.

The National Statistics Office (NSO) said imports that month grew 9.6 percent to $5.138 billion from $4.686 billion in the same month last year. In September, imports grew 8.9 percent.
