WHY do we need a civilian to head the Department of
National Defense?
Because, according to Lloyd George, “war is much too serious a
matter to be entrusted to the military.”
But presidential spokesman
Ignacio Bunye says Secretary Hermogenes Ebdane Jr. is “civilian”
enough to qualify for the job. Isn’t it true Ebdane used to wear
his barong Tagalog with his medals on? Of course not, silly.
