The real deal with The Pretenders

February is National Arts Month and Tanghalang Pilipino, the premier theater company for original works in Filipino, is saving the best for last. To close its 20th theater season, it is bringing together National Artist for literature F. Sionil Jose, Romnick Sarmenta, Roeder Camañag, Tanghalang Pilipino company actors, Chris Millado, Rody Vera and a host of other award winning and upcoming talents.

Tanghalang Pilipino stages the world premiere of the adaptation of Jose’s first novel, Ang Mga Huwad (The Pretenders) at the Tanghalang Aurelio Tolentino (Little Theater) of the Cultural Center of the Philippines, with matinee shows at 3 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday, and evening performances at 8 p.m. on Friday and Saturday. It opened on February 2 and will run until February 25.
