RP dollar reserves
at fresh all-time high |
|
THE Philippines’ dollar reserves rose to a fresh
record in January partly due to the proceeds of a fresh $1-billion
borrowing the government undertook last month.
In a statement, the Bangko
Sentral ng Pilipinas said the country’s end-January gross
international reserves reached $23.76 billion, rising from the
end-December level of $22.97 billion. Net reserves similarly inched
up to $23.74 billion from the $22.95 billion recorded at the end of
last year.
