Gov blames DPWH for
dredging foul-up |
|
LEGAZPI CITY: Gov. Fernando V. Gonzales of Albay
censured the top officials of the Department of Public Works and
Highways (DPWH) regional office here for lapses in the ongoing
dredging on the slopes and the river channels around Mayon Volcano
that were heavily silted by mudflow and volcanic debris during the
onslaught of Supertyphoon Reming.
“I am not saying that the
dredging is wrong but there’s a need to consult the local chief
executives and proper coordination before the project starts,”
Gonzales said.
