Pinay says Malaysian employer beat her

A Filipino domestic helper has sued her Malaysian employer for maltreatment, a report reaching the Department of Foreign Affairs said over the weekend.

In a report to Foreign Affairs Secretary Alberto Romulo, Ambassador to Kuala Lumpur Victoriano Lecaros said the maltreatment case will be heard in court on March 15.

Charges of “constant and habitual physical and emotional abuses” were filed by the Filipina, identified only by the DFA as “Anna.”

The Filipina reportedly complained to the Malaysian police about the abuses of her employer.

She said her employer started hurting her right after she arrived in October 2005.

It only stopped when she informed her that she has filed a suit against her last week.

The Filipina is currently under the care of the embassy in Kuala Lumpur. --Francis Earl A. Cueto
