DIGITAL LIFESTYLE

Gadget of the week

LG GBW-H10n Super Multi Blu-ray

Disc Recorder

What is it: One of the first internal PC Blu-ray disc player/recorder/rewriter in the market.

Who is it for: Early Blu-ray adapters.

Wallet magnet: The latest in optical media technology: Blu-ray format; reads all optical media format (BD/DVD/CD); world’s first 4x Blu-ray disc writing speed (BD-R); 25GB of storage on BD-R / BD-RE (5x ordinary DVD format).

On second thought: Prohibitively expensive at P39,000!

What is in the box: LG GBW-H10n Blu-ray Disc Recorder; IDE cable; chassis screws; blank 25Gb Verbatim Blu-ray disc; Cyberlink PowerDVD v6.6 BD, InstantBurn v5.2 for UDF Packet writing, Power2Go v5 for DVD writing, PowerBackup v2.5 and PowerProducer v3 DVD software.

Tech Times verdict: If you can’t wait for Blu-ray recorder prices to go down, then this LG model is readily available for you. Now, buy only if you have the money, not disc, to burn.
