Senate OK’s bills
for poor patients |
|
The Senate approved on third and final reading during
this week’s special session two bills protecting the rights of
hospital patients and buyers of motor vehicles.
Senate President Manny Villar
lauded colleagues for adopting House Bill 68, which penalizes
hospitals or clinics that detain patients who are unable to pay
their bills. The chamber also passed Senate Bill 2464, or the
“Lemon Law of 2007.”
