Traffic to get heavy as Edsa repairs resume

MOTORISTS can expect traffic on Edsa to be especially heavy this weekend as the Metro Manila Development Authority resumes the repair of portions of the busy highway.

Four stretches of Edsa are scheduled for repairs and motorists are advised to take alternative routes to avoid being caught in traffic.

On the northbound lane, repairs will be done at the ground level of MRT Kamuning station and Santolan MRT station in front of Camp Aguinaldo Gate 4.

At the southbound lane repairs are scheduled near the MRT Taft station in front of Metropoint Mall in Pasay City.

There will also be repairs on the north and southbound lanes of Edsa in front of the North road-rail terminal, North Avenue depot in Quezon City.

The concrete reblocking operations have been ongoing since May last year and was temporarily suspended in December to give way to the Christmas rush.

Repairs usually start around 10 p.m. Friday until early Morning Monday to avoid the Monday morning rush hour.

The MMDA already repaired 66 percent of the damage portions of Edsa and the MMDA General Manager Robert Nacianceno is positive to complete the project by the end of January.
