Appeals court rules govt must pay Piatco

AFFIRMING a lower court ruling, the Court of Appeals has ordered the government to pay P3,002,125,000 to Philippine International Air Terminals Corp. (Piatco), the consortium that built the Ninoy Aquino International Airport’s Terminal 2.

The court’s 8th Division dismissed the two petitions filed by Rep. Salacnib Baterina of Ilocos Sur and Atty. Manuel Fortes Jr. to stop Pasay Regional Trial Court Judge Jesus Mupas from implementing an order awarding the amount to Piatco.
