Rondalla goes from ‘promdi’ to global

LISTEN to the serenade of a multitude of strings as fingers dance, pluck and strum. Seven days, 36 concerts, more than 20 groups from over 10 nations from Russia to Singapore come together for the Second International Rondalla Festival: Cuerdas sa Panaghiusa (Strings of Unity).

Dumaguete City hosts the Cuerdas sa Panaghiusa from February 19 to 25. The event promises 36 concerts over seven days as well as outreach performances for such institutions as centers for orphanages, abused women and jails. There will be workshops on technique, repertoire and even instrument making from master craftsmen.
