Bench Fashion to stir your conscience

MANY children go to public schools but still can’t read for reasons that range from the lack of available books to nonconducive classrooms for learning. This is a nationwide problem that Margarita L. Delgado and Elizabeth Zobel consider very serious, so much so that they established the Sa Aklat Sisikat Foundation, which now lends a helping hand to raise the level of reading and comprehension among first to fourth graders.

“Every child has the right to read properly. Knowledge as well as wisdom can be instilled in them by having the availability of good books. Sa Aklat Sisikat Foundation does this, coupled with the aim of nurturing future leaders in this country,” Zobel, co-founder and vice president/treasurer of the foundation explained.
