Mayor’s league
warns against
city hood of 13 municipalities |
|
ILOILO CITY: City Mayor Jerry P. Treñas of Iloilo warned senators
who are supporting the exemption of 13 municipalities from income
requirement to give way to their conversion to city hood, that the
population of all the members of the League of Cities combined is
almost one half of the voting population in the country.
Treñas said the league has 118
members at the moment and these areas can deliver strong votes to
those who want to run for re-election in this coming May polls.
