Fun, fusion & frenzy 
at the Fête de la Musique

THE annual music festival organized by Alliance Française De Manille and PULP magazine had the usual big names like Radio Active Sago Project, The Dawn, True Faith, Cynthia Alexander, Greyhoundz, Orange & Lemons, Krazykyle. But it was the unique sound and all-out performances of up and coming acts such as Makatha, The Chongkeys and Moyg that truly kept the predominantly young crowd up all night. More than a hundred musicians took part in the much-awaited street music festival and they kept the party going from 4 p.m. to dawn.

Despite having Dolphy’s sons Epi & Ronnie Quizon fronting for the band Makatha, it was a 12-year-old drummer Badjao who stole the show at the Fête Dela Musique celebration. The young boy has been getting a lot of attention lately at the You Tube for a wonderful video performance. Not many people know that Epi could rap and his older brother Ronnie (ex-partner of actress Eula Valdez) could sing like a pro.
