1st-half budget
deficit ceiling likely breached |

THE Arroyo administration may
have breached its first-half budget deficit ceiling, making it more
likely that it would miss the full-year target.
In a televised press conference,
Finance Secretary Mar-garito B. Teves said on Wednesday that the
government expects the Bureaus of Internal Revenue (BIR) and of
Customs to incur a combined tax collection shortfall of P53 billion
in the first semester.
