Ian Leonel Porlayagan, a
22-year-old farmer from San Jose, Nueva Ecija, won the first-ever
Mister Philippines International pageant held Sunday at the Palacio
de Maynila on Roxas Boulevard. Porlayagan will represent the country
in the Mister International pageant in Mexico City, Mexico, in
October.
“I dedicate this to my
mother,” he said, almost choking with emotions, in the
post-pageant interview. When not busy in the rice fields, Porlayagan
takes care of his mother, who suffered a stroke a few years ago.
