Electronics, fuel purchases fall

RP imports contract for a second month

THE Philippines cut back on its purchases from abroad for a second month in May, with electronics and fuel imports sliding, the National Statistics Office (NSO) said Wednesday.

The NSO said the country’s expenditures for imported goods contracted 3.4 percent to $4.296 billion last May from $4.448 billion in the same month last year.
