1,700 Islamist
victims
in Philippines since 2000 |
|
NEW YORK: Islamist groups including the Abu Sayyaf have killed or
wounded more than 1,700 people in the Philippines since 2000, Human
Rights Watch said in a report released Monday.
The rights watchdog said that the
toll in the Philippines surpassed the number of casualties for the
same period in neighboring Indonesia, including in the 2002 Bali
bombings.
