RP among least peaceful

FILIPINOS debated yesterday the news that of 121 countries rated according to their peacefulness in the Global Peace Index compiled by the Economist magazine Intelligence Unit, the Philippines ranked 100th as the least peaceful.

The study, the first of its kind, measured a country’s peacefulness based on 24 indicators that included levels of violence, organized crime, military expenditure, wars fought in the last five years and arms sales.
