Padyak Pinoy winners to receive prizes

VICTOR ESPIRITU and his Wow Magic Sing get the lion’s share of close to P2.8 million in total cash prizes as Dynamic Outsource Solutions Inc. (Dos-1) holds the 2007 Padyak Pinoy Summer Showdown awarding ceremonies on June 20 at the Multipurpose Theater of the Amoranto Sports Complex in Quezon City.

Dos-1 president Gary Cayton will lead the elaborate rites set to start at 8:30 a.m. Expected to join Cayton are PhilCycling president and Air21 chairman Bert Lina, Air21 president Lito Alvarez, Tanduay top brass Wilson Young, Andres Co and Larry Li and Andres Sanchez, Ma. Christina Llamo and Daniel del Rosario of G2K Corp. (Wow Magic Sing).

Espiritu is the individual overall champion of the 10-stage Padyak Pinoy Summer Showdown staged May 17 to 27, while his Wow Magic Sing is the team overall titlist. Espiritu will receive P50,000 while his team gets P50,000.

“We have again set elaborate rites for the awarding ceremonies to honor our cycling heroes,” said Cayton. “It is but fitting that we fete the cyclists for their efforts in the 10-day Padyak Pinoy Summer Showdown.”

Officials of Bacchus, Champion, Sogo Hotel Corp., Mail&More, Cargohaus, U-Freight, Vellum, SM Supe-rmalls, Clark Development Corp., Caltex and Cossack Vodka are also expected to grace the affair. Also invited is Games and Amusements Board chairman Eric Buhain.

A total of 86 riders took part in the Padyak Pinoy. Also to be feted are individual classification runner-up Baler Ravina (Cool Pap, P30,000) and Irish Valenzuela (Cossack Vodka, P20,000).
