Dollar seen to cost P44 by year-end

Peso hit by less than favorable budget gap

THE peso returned to the 46-to-a-dollar level on Tuesday, after the government reported disappointing budget deficit data for May.

At the Philippine Dealing System, the local currency closed at 46.01 against the greenback, lower than Monday’s closing price of 45.920.
