Philippine Airlines launches a photo contest deemed
to be the year’s biggest photography event— with the theme
“The Beauty of the Philippines.” The formal launch is set on
Friday, June 22 at the Embassy, The Fort, Global City, Taguig.
Open to all amateur, professional
and even children photography buffs, the 1st PAL Photo Contest aims
to promote the country’s ecotourism.
After the contest launch, a
series of photo clinics will be conducted from June to August by
five of the country’s top lensmen—George Tapan, Bien Bautista,
Edwin Loyola, Vic Sison and Jay Alonzo.
Winners will be presented their
prizes in September, which includes cash, travel benefits and loads
of freebies. The top 50 entries will be exhibited at various SM
Malls (Mall of Asia, Megamall, Baguio, Cebu, Davao, Iloilo and Davao)
from September to December.
The project is a joint
undertaking by PAL, Eastgate Publishing Corp. (publisher of Mabuhay
Magazine) and Oneworkshop Inc.
Part of the contest’s income
will fund the PAL Foundation’s ecotourism projects.
