LOS ANGELES: The world’s No. 1 golfer Tiger Woods
said he was delighted with the birth of his baby girl Monday and
that mother and daughter are doing just fine.
Woods said on his web site
tigerwoods.com that he and wife, Elin, have named the new cub and
first born Sam Alexis Woods.
The little darling was born one
day after Father’s Day and a few hours after Woods finished tied
for second, just one shot back of winner Angel Cabrera at the 2007
US Open championship.
“Both Elin and Sam are doing
well and resting peacefully,” Woods wrote. “We want to thank our
doctors and the hospital staff for all their dedicated and hard
work.
“This is truly a special time
in our lives and we look forward to introducing Sam to our family
and friends over the next few weeks. We thank everyone for their
well wishes and continued respect of our privacy.”
