SAN Sebastian College, slowed by a resurgent La Salle
side the last time out, shoots for a playoff for a final berth again
Thursday as it takes on University of Santo Tomas even as Lyceum
resumes its own drive against also-ran Ateneo in the Shakey’s
V-League at The Arena in San Juan.
The SSC spikers, who dropped
a sorry five-setter to the Lady Archers on Tuesday, try to nail
down win No. 8 in 10 games that would assure the Jaroensri Bualee-backed
team of at least a playoff for the second final berth with three
playdates left in the semis.
But the Tigresses, led by Venus
Bernal and May Jean Balse, are also going all out in their 4 p.m.
encounter as the España-based squad, running third with a 5-3 card,
tries to stay in the hunt for a crack at the championship in this
event sponsored by Shakey’s Pizza.
Lyceum, in second with a 6-2
slate, also guns for a crucial win in its 2 p.m. clash with Ateneo.
