Even during the Cold War decades, when our Republic had no diplomatic relations with the People’s Republic, products from China were always widely popular here.

China has now become the leading economic and developmental partner of the Philippines, along with the United States and Japan. It is now a leading source of investment and assistance. As an investor it is deeply involved in vital economic and social development programs: Telecommunications, infrastructure, transportation, power generation, housing, and agriculture, among others.
