Feel good and feel beautiful

SHE never wanted to feel this way—unpretty, unwanted and unloved. But how could she prevent it from happening if all they could see was her dark skin. “I’m not beautiful. I’m far from being one, if only I have fair skin—they could really appreciate me,” she sadly cries as tears start to fall down from her weary eyes.

The pain of rejection can cause insecurities and greatly affect self-esteem especially on teenage girls. Most of them can have a very low self-esteem due to the twisted dictates of a double-standard society that beautiful women are the only ones we see on television and magazines—thin, tall and fair skinned. These unrealistic standards of beauty can really change a young girl’s view on what real beauty is.
