US company to market new fuel additive

A United States-based company is set to launch a new fuel additive product in the market that promises to increase fuel savings as well as help reduce air pollution.

Dori James O’Neill, Essentially Yours Industries International (EYI International) chief, said that in the next couple of weeks the company, through its local distribution partner Orientrends, will start selling the Ultimate Mileage and Ecology Squared (Ultimate ME+), the only fuel mix to meet US Environmental Protection Agency standards.

EYI International said it has poured at least $1 million to bring the product to the Philippines, and will initially be shipping nine thousand bottles of the fuel additive in the next two weeks. He added that the product would be made available in most retail establishments such as malls, kiosks, gas stations, among others.

Raul Bautista, Orientrends president, said that the price of the product for the local market has to yet be determined pending the resolution of tax and incentives issues.

The Ultimate ME+ has been proven to increase mileage in gasoline engines by 13 percent and diesel engines by 16 percent, and is said to reduce nitrogen, carbon monoxide and hydrocarbon emissions by 44 percent, 33 percent and 7 percent, respectively, the company said.

The product is sold in the US and Canada but O’Neill said that EYI International is also targeting to introduce the product in other Southeast Asian countries in two to five years.
