AYALA Museum invites the public to a talk on Tsinoy: Mestizo Art in
Colonial Times by Professor Ambeth R. Ocampo on March 17, 2007, at 2
p.m.
The discussion
is in line with an ongoing exhibit Tsinoy: Mestizo Art in Colonial
Times, which offers an insight into the works of 19th century Tsinoy
artisans. This is part of Chinese Diaspora: Art Streams from the
Mainland, a collection of six exhibitions that address the theme of
Chinese influence and its local transformations in Southesast Asia.
The exhibit runs from February 15 to May 27, 2007.
Professor
Ambeth R. Ocampo is the chairman of the Naitional Commission for
Culture and the Arts (NCCA) and the National Historical Institute.
He has won three National Book Awards and a Premio Manuel Bernabe
and was elected National Fellow for Essay by the University of the
Philippines Creative Writing Center (1995-1996).
Admission
fees entitle interested individuals to attend his talk. Ayala Museum
is located at Greenbelt Park, Makati Avenue corner De La Rosa
Street, Makati City. The Museum is open from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Tuesdays to Fridays, and 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Saturdays and Sundays.
