initiate the children advocacy program.
The areas
include the villages of Kinebeka and Awang in Datu Odin Sinsuat; Timanan
and Kuya in South Upi; Tunggol and Bulit in Datu Montawal; Nuro and
Kibleg in North Upi; Darampu and Paldong in Sultan sa Barongis;
Central Langkong and Langkong in Matanog; Nuyo and Dinganen in
Buldon; Bulalo and Crossing Simuay in Sultan Kudarat; Macabiso and
Tapayan in Sultan Mastura and Poblacion 1 and 2 in Parang, all in
the ARMM component provinces of Maguindanao and Shariff Kabunsuan.
Such consensus
materialized during a recent assessment meeting by MCPC and BCPC
representatives with ARMM-Provincial Technical Working Group (PTWG)
officials in this city.
The ARMM-PTWG
is composed of various government-line agency representatives tasked
to coordinate, reorganize and strengthen programs in the region that
include children’s welfare among its agenda.
Department of
Interior and Local Government—Maguindanao provincial director
Isa Romangcap noted the crucial need to implement children programs
under the “4-Gifts” scheme composed of the Local Code for
Children (LCP), Local Investment for Children (LIC), Local Plan for
Children (LPC) and the State of the Children’s Report (SCR).
Mayors in
Maguindanao and Shariff Kabunsuan pledged to support the program in
their respective areas, particularly those children exposed to
conflict-ridden surroundings.
