WITH so many coffee shops sprouting in the
metropolis, anybody can have their caffeine fix in a dozen different
ways—as an espresso or cappuccino; ice shaken or even ice blended.
However, most of these offer an American or Westernized take on the
Italian drink. Coffee aficionados, who are very particular about
their brew, usually opt to have their coffee at a good restaurant,
hotel, or simply at home.
Fortunately, there is Café Enzo,
a place that makes authentic Italian coffee readily available. Café
Enzo is a coffee cart/kiosk concept inspired by the old Lavazza
carts popularized in Italy. It is a modern mobile café with a hood
that reads “Lavazza servita da Café Enzo,” (translated
“Lavazza served by Café Enzo”).
Café Enzo uses only Lavazza
coffee beans for its espresso and espresso-based drinks. Touted as
“Italy’s Favorite Coffee,” Lavazza accounts for 60 percent of
the Italian market. It is number one in the European and Australian
market. Café Enzo also serves hot chocolate and granitas, also made
from high quality Italian ingredients, and grilled Italian sausages
and home-baked biscotti.
Other useful facts:
In Italy, Lavazza roasts 3,000
tons of coffee a day.
The Philippines imports 100 tons
of Lavazza every year.
