POWERHOUSE Colegio San Agustin and St.
Scholastica’s College scored contrasting wins Sunday to rule their
respective divisions in the 2007 Milo BEST Center Women’s
Volleyball League at the San Beda College gym.
The CSA spikers defeated Miriam
College, 25-14, 25-13, to retain the WVL elementary competitive
division crown, while St. Scholastica rallied past School of St.
Anthony, 25-9, 24-26, 25-11, 25-8, to claim their second straight
diadem in the high school competitive division.
In the developmental category,
Baesa Adventist Elementary School captured the elementary title over
Assumption College, 25-14, 25-15, while La Salle College of Antipolo,
won the high-school title over St. Joseph School of Fairview, 26-24,
25-21.
Third-place finishers were
Southville International School (elementary developmental), St.
Scholastica’s College (elementary competitive), New Era University
(high-school developmental) and San Antonio de Padua College
(high-school competitive).
Named Most Valuable Players were
CSA’s Ingrid Juliene Reyes (elementary competitive), BAES’ Mary
Kate Usi (elementary developmental); St. Scholastica’s Fille St.
Merced Cainglet (high-school competitive); and LSCA’s Anna Maria
del Mundo (high-school developmental).
Now on its 12th year, the Milo
BEST Center Women’s Volleyball League was participated in by the
best teams in the elementary and high-school divisions all over the
country.
