Court of Appeals
justice dismissed |

The Supreme Court on Tuesday
fired Court of Appeals Justice Elvi John Asuncion for gross
ignorance of the law and delaying motions of considerations filed
before his division.
Asuncion is only the second Court
of Appeals magistrate to be dismissed. In 2001 Justice Demetrio G.
Demetria was sacked for interceding in the drug case of Yu Yuk Lai
at the Department of Justice.
