SAINT PATRICK’s day is a green-letter day for most
Irish, whether they now live in the United States or in some other
parts of the world. The younger generation would refer to it as
Saint Patty’s Day and the big celebration usually happens during
this time of the year. Street parades, loud dance music and a lot of
drinking and partying happen during the celebration of Saint
Patty’s Day.
But that’s just my intro. What
I really want to discuss today is about how we can party, get tipsy
and have fun in merry-making but still look and feel good the
following day.
Here are some information and a
few useful tips that might prove to be helpful:
• The human body can only
absorb an ounce of alcohol. Therefore, try to sip or drink slowly.
Drinking games with shots will definitely make you tipsy right away
and will cause a bad hangover in the morning.
• Take a teaspoon of honey
before and after you drink alcohol to replace the sugar that is lost
by too much alcohol consumed.
• Taking a tablespoon of extra
virgin coconut oil before drinking alcohol is also recommended and
it will not make you too drunk because the oil apparently blocks the
alcohol.
• Have a light meal before
going out to drink. Never drink on an empty stomach.
• Drink ginger juice or
peppermint tea to soothe your senses the morning after.
Here are some beauty tips to look
good despite a hangover:
• Apply moisturizer on your
face before going to bed and if possible use a humidifier to hydrate
the face.
• Thoroughly wash and clean
your face before going to bed.
• Soak tea bags in cold water
and apply them to any puffy part of your face.
• Use eyedrops to get rid of
redness and clean your eyes.
• Foundations and matte
lipsticks are too drying after a night of drinking, so just wear
light makeup and use a light concealer to hide those marks under the
eyes.
• Drink lots of water.
• Try to sleep well.
