Asia:
Singapore is the place to be |

SINGAPORE is known for being the
leading business hub in Asia, way ahead of Hong Kong and Korea. Also
dubbed as the top convention city in Asia, Singapore also happens to
be one of the favorite Asian tourism destinations. And unknown to
many, the tiny country is also creating a big buzz in the world of
health-care services.
In 2000, the World Health
Organization ranked Singapore’s health-care system No. 1 in Asia
and sixth in the world. Then in April 2001, a medical breakthrough
placed Singapore on the world medical map when a team of doctors and
medical professionals successfully separated Nepalese twins, Ganga
and Jamuna, who were conjoined at the head in a successful operation
that lasted more than 90 hours.
