INANG YAYA line producer Noemi Peji kept her poise
when her left shoe strap came undone as she went up to pick up the
Best Digital Movie of the Year. Peji stood onstage trying to lift
her shoe that wouldn’t stay on. She eventually had to pick up her
shoe after her thank-you speech and walked off the stage. The
film’s co-director and screenwriter Veronica Velasco referred to
Peji as the night’s Cinderella.
Inang Yaya pulled an upset,
taking the trophy away from the highly-favored Jeffrey Jeturian film
Kubrador, which has been winning awards in the international film
festival circuit.
