Punzalan upsets
Alcano
in BSCP National Open |
|
FORMER national player Fidel Punzalan pulled off a
9-5 upset win over top seed Ronnie Alcano to advance in the third
round of the San Miguel Beer-sponsored BSCP National Open at the
Ninoy Aquino Stadium.
The 56-year-old
Punzalan, who gave the country its first gold medal in billiards
during the 1987 Jakarta SEA Games, displayed his awesome form to
beat Alcano, the reigning world 8-ball and 9-ball champion.
