MANILA Autogas Enterprise Corp.
expects to double its growth this year by expanding its auto
liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) refilling stations in Metro Manila
this year.
Tony Moran, Manila Autogas chief
operations officer, said the firm plans to establish 7 more autogas
stations this year on top of its existing 7 outlets. This would
require an investment of P70 million.
“The prospects are very good
and [the] auto-LPG business [is] grow[ing] very quickly. The time is
really ripe now,” he said.
Manila Autogas is an auto-LPG kit
installing and refilling Filipino company. It started its operations
in 2005.
“We are confident to double our
growth this year as we see more business opportunities in auto-LPG
not only in Metro Manila,” Moran said.
He said the company plans to
build new auto-LPG refilling stations outside Metro Manila next
year.

Moran said the lower-priced
autogas would cut taxi fares, as using the alternative fuel leads to
a P15-a-liter savings on fuel costs.
Moran said business opportunities
in auto-LPG would rise given the huge gas deposits in Malampaya.
Out of the total 32,000 units
plying the streets of Metro Manila, about 10,000 have converted into
autogas.
