THE Metro Manila Development Authority’s
“Gwapotel” inn at the Port Area, Manila, is good news for
workers, small-business men and transients who missed their bus to
the province and must find a place to sleep in the city.
“Gwapotel” is Chairman Bayani
Fernando’s name for the low-budget “hotel” on A. Bonifacio
Drive that offers sleeping space (P20 a night) and showers (P5 for
eight minutes) to men and women who may be too tired for the long
trip home or who spent hours waiting for a ride that did not come.
