SIX suspected Islamic radicals have been arrested and charged with
plotting to kill “as many soldiers as possible” at a US military
base in New Jersey, US authorities said on Tuesday.
The suspects, including a pizza
deliveryman who allegedly used his job to case the army base, were
arrested on Monday night as they tried to buy automatic rifles. They
were due to appear Tuesday in a New Jersey court after a 16-month
sting operation.
WASHINGTON: The United
States stood by World Bank president Paul Wolfowitz, without rising
to defend its appointee, who violated bank ethics rules in arranging
a sweet pay deal for his companion.
