Double-digit growth for third month

Filipinos abroad send home more money

MONEY sent home by overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) rose by double digits last March, sustaining a trend seen since the start of the year, the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP) said Tuesday.

OFW remittances coursed through banks grew 24 percent year on year to $3.5 billion in the first three months from $2.814 billion in the same period last year.
