Election turnout pleases Comelec; 
Chairman Abalos feels vindicated

THE outcome of the just concluded midterm election has disproved earlier allegations from the opposition that there would be massive cheating to ensure the victory of the administration candidates in the polls, said Chairman Benjamin Abalos of the Commission on Elections (Comelec).

“This is a vindication for the Comelec. The election was generally peaceful. There has been no report of cheating whatsoever,” Abalos said in a press conference.
