Comelec: Clerical
error, not
‘dagdag-bawas,’ in canvass |

The Commission on Elections said
on Saturday that the discrepancy in the votes of four candidates it
noted during the official canvassing was due to a “clerical
error,” and not vote-rigging or “dagdag-bawas.”
Comelec Chairman Benjamin Abalos
Sr. made the clarification a day after the discrepancy surfaced
involving the votes for Genuine Opposition bets Alan Peter Cayetano,
Francis Escudero, Loren Legarda and independent Gregorio Honasan.
