MARINE troops clashed with
members of a “private armed group” maintained by unnamed
politicians in a remote village in Basilan province early Wednesday
morning, a military report said.
A Marine official said an Abu
Sayyaf member led the private armed group.
CRIMINAL charges were filed on
Wednesday against two police officers and six John Does for their
involvement in the torching of a schoolbuilding in Batangas last
week, a police official said.
