WASHINGTON: US Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice travels to the
Middle East this week to lay the groundwork for key
Israeli-Palestinian talks in the United States next month.
The chief US diplomat also has
planned a side visit to Turkey to help tamp down tensions between
Ankara and its neighbor Iraq.
