Lintang Bedol blamed for election mess

Commission on Elections nullifies proclamation of all Maguindanao town executives; DILG installs new set of municipal officials

KIDAPAWAN CITY: The Commission on Elections (Comelec) Second Division has nullified the proclamation of all incumbent officials in Pagalungan, Maguindanao, due to missing election returns believed kept by wanted Maguindanao election supervisor Lintang Bedol, reported the Philippine News Agency on Monday.

In a resolution dated November 8, the poll body cited as basis for the annulment the missing election returns from the town’s 17 clustered precincts, which Bedol failed to present during the canvassing of votes facilitated by the Comelec’s National Board of Canvassers in connection with the May 14 mid-term polls this year.
