Media takes press freedom battle to the High Court

Journalist adamant that Malacañang stop issuing threats on stories and reports allegedly bordering on rebellion

Several media organizations and personalities have brought to the Supreme Court the battle over press freedom.

In a 35-page petition for review filed before the High Court, the media organizations and personalities questioned the May 30, 2007 ruling of the Court of Appeals that dismissed their petition that sought to stop government from issuing threats against mediamen who “tend” to publish or broadcast rebellious, subversive and seditious statements
