QUEZON City Police District chief Senior Supt.
Magtanggol Gatdula has ordered the district’s Criminal
Investigation Unit to exert all efforts in resolving the case of
station commander Supt. Jose Garcia, who was found dead Saturday
inside his house.
Gatdula likewise believes that Garcia’s death
is not suicide, which is one of the angles being looked into by
investigators.
This means there is a big possibility Garcia’s
death may have resulted in the discharge of his duties as commander
of Police Station 8 in Quezon City.
Garcia was found by his son lifeless and slumped
at the back of their house at 49 Nawasa Road, corner Military
Street, Veteran’s Village about 11:30 p.m. Saturday with a bullet
wound on his chest.
He was rushed to Malvar General Hospital but was
dead on arrival.
Initial reports disclosed that Garcia could have
committed suicide, but his relatives immediately dismissed this
because they see no reason why the police officer would end his
life.
Gatdula, who was saddened by the incident, said
he has also directed his men to look into the previous cases handled
by Garcia for more possible leads.
