TWENTY-TWO-YEAR-OLD Wendy Briones of Muntinlupa was
just going about her groceries; buying her regular supply of Sunsilk
sachets. Little did she know that she was about to have the shopping
spree of her life! “Who would have thought that Sunsilk would
choose that particular supermarket I was in? I was really
shocked!”
Wendy, a staff nurse in the
Intensive Care Unit of the Ospital ng Muntinlupa is a loyal Sunsilk
user, claiming that she loves the soft touch variant of the brand.
“I’ve been using Sunsilk even before the promo came out; I just
really liked using it.”
Wendy was given the chance to
shop at Glorietta and Greenbelt where she was treated like a VIP.
Together with her parents, Stanley and Amelita, and younger sister
Genelyn, they searched the entire mall to find the best buys to
spend their shopping money worth P500,000 on. Choosing appliances
from Abenson and items at Ace Hardware, Wendy was surely getting
what she has been dreaming of, a new home.
When asked about the things she
would like to buy, “My priority is materials for the building of
our house. I want to give my parents their dream house. As for
myself, I want a computer so I can do my reports and work at home.
That’s all she wants! I also want to buy my brother Anthony a cell
phone and my youngest sister Angelica who’s only 7 years old, some
materials for school. As the eldest of four, I really do want to
give my family and siblings the things they want.”
With the 500,000 shopping spree,
Wendy still wants the simple joy of being able to give to those whom
she cares for.
“What I really want right now
is to be able to build a home for my family. I also want to give
appliances to the hospital. I know how badly it needs some things
that it lacks at the moment.”
For Wendy, the whole shopping
spree is a way to give something back to those who deserve it and
being able to fulfill a dream of having a new home.
